Jeanette Lewicki (accordion, vocals) plays with The Gonifs klezmer band as well as with the Klez-X. She has sung and played with Alan Bern and Michael Alpert of Brave Old World, learned Yiddish at Oxford University in England, and worked with Jewish music collector Professor Martin Schwartz. Jeanette is a longtime street musician and a founding member of Freygish Women's Klezmer Band in Berlin. Working with virtuoso musicians, Jeanette presents Yiddish tangos, theatre tunes, twentieth-century art compositions, and
rarely heard folk songs.
